Returning to your hometown is incredibly special—the familiar streets, the cozy spots that hold countless memories, and, most importantly, the family and friends who make coming home feel so wonderful. My recent visit was a trip down memory lane, filled with laughter, love, and a deep sense of belonging.

Memories not forgotten

Playing field hockey was one of the most cherished parts of my high school years. Our team was more than just a group of players; we were a family. The memories of practicing together, supporting each other, and pushing our limits under the guidance of our talented coach are etched in my heart. Winning the state championship undefeated remains one of the highlights of my experience, but it was not just about the victory. It was about the journey, the teamwork, and the collective effort that led us to success. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons about dedication, resilience, and the power of working together toward a common goal.

The lessons I learned on the field extended beyond sports; they influenced every aspect of my life. The discipline and determination I gained from my experiences in field hockey—through Olympic camps, Division 1 college, and high school—form the foundation of my approach to business, life, and publishing. Striving to do my best, no matter the challenge has always been a guiding principle that I carry with me.

Inspired by my experiences and a desire to pass on valuable lessons, I wrote my eighth children's book on good sportsmanship through a field hockey story. I aimed to create a narrative that teaches kids the importance of teamwork, respect, and perseverance in sports. These lessons are essential for children, helping them grow into well-rounded individuals prepared to face life's challenges head-on.

Returning home is a beautiful reminder of my origins and the fantastic journey that has molded me into who I am.
